IT’S THE ALCHEMICAL MAGIC THAT KEEPS HAWKWIND ALIVE

If there’s one thing we can say of the twenty years of creating Hawkwind is the gift of so many amazing magicians who have blessed this land and our home that we might continue to grow and seed the vision. Some of our first visits and teachings came from folks like Eva White Dessert Eagle, who brought her training of the Southwest to us, and taught the women how to do Shamanic Vision work, before anyone had even heard of such a thing. You can still find Eva if you google her name which leads you to an earthlink sub-site. She is quite amazing.

Elders who are the keepers of the arrows in Oklahoma where regulars for quite a while and taught us much about the integrity of keeping the fires of the lodges and our center going strong. Blessings to Lou White Eagle and his brother, Nick Black Bear. They kept us on our toes for many a moon. We are certain their sun Dance continues with the hundreds they serve in their homelands.

This place is always blessed by our magical Bo Clark, who is part of our Alchemical work and oh so much more. Bo is a constant inspiration on this mountain and it is many a weekend that she and Nancy have been the mainstay of our support system. They have been part of this dance for over a dozen years and we bow to them for all of the many ways they support us. These two ladies have been everything from the providers of our compost system, to being and income source in scarce years. They have laughed with us, helped us cook and clean and dream. They are the rock that keeps us smiling when no one is around in the cold months.

We bless Dan and Bunny Lynch who brought us into the Pagan community and then brought that community to us in the form of a Beltaine Celebration with the May Pole and lots of good fun. Dan and Bunny traveled with us as part of the Fire Crew for years and we miss them greatly. They brought us EDC, Earth Drum Council; Jimi & Morween Two Feathers, Roger and a cast of characters became a grand part of many gatherings we attended and then brought the whole process us to us here for a long weekend one summer. We love connecting with them, dancing with them, drumming near them ( cause they are so darn good it is scarey!) They brought us to Jeff McBride, whom we had known a bit through Medicine Wheel Gatherings, but came to cherish along with his wife Spinner as our journeys of transformation continue. Tarwater cherished his summer camp with the Mystery School with Jeff as one of the greatest contributions to our Dance here at Hawkwind. And of course and off shoot of all of that is our relationship with the ever so wonderful Mz. Imani.

Mz. Imani brings her drum classes and Sacred Soul Fire events to us as often as we can “drum up” enough folks to make a grand weekend of prayerful play together. Mz. Imani sings and drums and provides healing and ritual with an amazing soul and she is one of our great warrior protector sisters of all time. We are honored that she will, once again be joining us for this upcoming celebration and promises to bring us quite a special night of her transforming best music and a crew that will please and delight us at every level. UMMMMM YuMMMM Can’t wait. And of course we will get her more than once this year, if ya’ll behave right...so do behave, so we can make it happen. She is also one of the other major players in our work with Alchemical Healing Academy, along with Bo Clark, Raven wood and more who carry forward the work of Nicki Blue Eagle Scully..

Which takes us to our ongoing star in our Alchemical show, our own beloved Nicki Scully. It would take volumes to herald the love and devotion we have found in each other in this magical work. Nicki is one of the first of my clan that Gram Twyla had instructed me to seek. We met in the darkness of the Sweat Lodge as I had been asked to go sing for her, as she provided her healing magic to the circle. I was more than a little honored and thrilled to get to make the connection. The moment I crawled in the door and looked into her eyes, I knew I had found a Sacred Sis-star and friend of many life times. The friendship has grown through the years and has blended us together as we have formed the ALCHEMICAL HEALING ACADEMY. The heart of our work based at her wonderful home in Oregon and Hawkwind in the process of developing the Southern Regional base this year.

There were so many fun stories that one might share about Nicki. We’ve been through so many adventures together. Nicki came here to do healing work on me back in a time of deep illness, because I had been out to support her when she was ill. We have climbed the mountains of Peru together and birthed the visions of the children and the healing that would come from our endeavors. We have built a Spirit House in Oregon at the Fair, where we reclaimed an old crack park and turned it into a safe haven for people of all nations to come and pray. We have visioned books and gardens and more ideas than a dozen could live and we have laughed and healed over and over again. We have lived a journey that has only just begun and can be found within the volumes of Nicki’s books on ALCHEMICAL HEALING, and working with ANIMAL MEDITATIONS, and now even more with the HEALING MYSTERIES OF EGYPT., and soon our own ORACLE DECK based on the mystery’s of Anubis as brought forward by Nicki and Star Wolf ( Yep, that wonderful new pal at Isis Cove.) IT has been even more fun now that we have combined the energy of so many other amazing Healers in this lineage and the blending of nations has formed quite a special Council Circle.

Nicki comes from rock n’ roll. As a Rock n’ Roll Shaman, she has been a spinner for circles all over the world. Her tours to Egypt as bar none the finest offered. She has taken hundreds to Peru and Greece and many a Sacred Site in between and the rituals she offers will keep you rocking for a lifetime. Nicki’s healing power is one of the reasons I am able to sit here and write this at all. Her Cd’s of meditations and healing journeys lull me to sleep on many a restless night. I could go on for pages about Nicki, my very own SHAMANATIX, but that would appear that I am playing favorites.....so I admit it. Nicki is one of my shining stars. I love being the crew chief for her at the Oregon Country Faire for the past ten years. This year I will be blessed with joining her on stage as I share the insights of the Grandmother’s codes that carry us into 2012. Oddly , Nicki and I too, are Grandmothers and it just doesn’t seem we are that old when we are dancing our ass’s off to our favorite bands. That is until we have to have someone drive us to the chiropractor for an adjustment so we can get up and do it again!

Each day I look forward to what our alchemical magic will bring us as we spin the elements and the dreams together to build healing centers, foundations, books, music and videos. Each day I remember that all we need is love, faith and an ample dose of earth, water, fire, and air. That by praying together, dancing together, visioning together and trusting the process that our magic grows. We honor every magical blessing that has come our way and continue to share them with as much love and devotion as we can muster.
