The different phases of the construction of The Medicine Wheel at HAWKWIND        WOW, WOW, WOW
It is only the second morning since our completion of the Medicine Wheel Gathering and we are feeling soooooo blessed. This morning at dawn as we the new day, smudging the land and making sure that everything was back in it's place. The magic beams from every nook and cranny. The animals cheer in the woods, the hummingbirds swarm the feeders and followed us around the circles. What a grand blessing to see that Our AWESOME STAFF had cleaned amost every aspect of the land and buildings, leaving us with only the presonal and ceremonial processing to happen ....AND IT IS CERTAINLY HAPPENING FOR US.
What an incredible blessing to be able to do one more give away for our Uncle/brother/teacher/Elder and friend Sun Bear. He was and still is the man who brought a nation together, the man who changed the world with his wake up call, the man who guided the hearts of millions in his books, his gathering, his inspirations. May his love and memory live on in all of our hearts. HIS MEDICINE IS ALIVE IN ALL OF US, HIS MEDICINE LIVES ON IN THE NEXT GENERATION, and they were all there to be part of this Sacred gathering of all nations. We are reminded that he asked us all to continue to build the wheeld and lead the circles...and we are. Calls and letters came from all over the world. As we have begun to process the pictures, it is clear in the lights and essence of the smiling faces that he was very much there with us. There was barley a frown that could be seen all weekend. Every face beaming light and love as hands joined together to re-member each other.
There are so many magical highlights of this event that we had never even expected. We had offered this as a give away to support his memory, and his old fire crews of over 20 years got together to provide this event in his honor.We gathered gifts and grew the food. We planted the flowers and sang with the children to allow this Saced Mesa to come to life. wW want to thank Atma Kaur one of his first apprentices was joined with our magical Grandama Page Bryant THE LONGEST STANDING MEMEBR OF THE BEAR TRIBE. To see our Earth Mama take those steps with her walker to get to the creator stone was a vision. The picture of her Blessing the stone next the to large painting of Bear shows her amazing love and dedication. We had always promised Bear that even if we had to do it in walkers and wheel chairs, we would be there. The promise was kept. illies that we are. May she be blessed with much good health and energy for those steps taken. Her half side Scott, still does the best Sun Bear imitation in the world was joined by Randy North Star's blessings on the Wheel. Mr. Doggie Cookies singing at the Wheel was an incredible flash back and blessed memory for us. To see Diane Stone Water at his side, and Grandma Ruth smiling as he sang...there wasn't enough kleenix to get us through this weekend. REALLY...tear of joy flowed every few minutes.
As much as we missed Grandpa Bearheart, to see Alver Medicine Tree blessing our children was worth the entire year of work to prepare!!! Grandma Bertha Burch Grove held the Eldest Elder seat and made us laugh all weekend, and then shared the most serious instructions about how to respect these ways to honor all that it took to protect them and keep them alive. Lulu is on the way home with her, and we look forward to hearing more about what she saw, felt and heard as we all joined hands as one heart, one nation. We really missed Grandma Terry and a dozen of us had BIG questions for her and we hold her healing time in our hearts. To have Mary Thunder and Grandma Blue Star Vitale with us was over the top. It certainly fullfilled many promised the Elders have made to us and we will be joining them in Texas for Mary's big conferance in Oct. re all doing together. Aunt Mary had been the one who began many of our Vision Quests and now our promises to her 20 years ago were coming back around full circle. Our bonus guest Elders who blessed us with special energy came as Grandmother White Dove Crow and Mz. Imani who brought us awesome music and her big heart. Thanks to Billy Woods who jumped in the van with his drum to support the process. Especially since he didn't evenknow about the gathering until the day before it happened and they stillmade it here on time.
As Wind Daughter and Grandma Lynn brought the aspects of Sun Bear's Medicine Wheel vision to life it was pure pleasure to see our next generation join the old ones in the regalia of the animals that blessed each stone. Spinning around, spinning around together one more time. Thanks to Wind Daughter for bringing this to our gateway and we are sending blessings for the new Wheel you build in your new home in Arkansas, as you awaken the Panther Lodge Medicine Society. May the proceeds we worked so hard to raise for you from this event support you in a manner that will allow you to continue to do your Medicine work for the people as you carry forward many bundles and visions of healing of all nations.
We are thanking Creator for blessing our Fire Crew who built the lodges, hauled the rocks, cut the firewood, cleaned the kitchen and toilets and worked everyweekend for a year to haul the stones from the creeks beds here on the land to join the one's Sun Bear had blessed almost 20 years ago to guide us. His Wheel up and functioning once again. We could hear him in our heart say WHAT TOOK SO LONG...and as his voice of gratitude came over the PA system Friday night, EVERYONE remembered him and passed the tissue box. It was overpowering as the stones lit up in the woods...after the electrical crew had been at it for 18 hours a day for three weeks to set up a one of a kind Medicine Wheel dedication that was more than over the top. Thanks to our Son Sean and is wife Krista for paying for the fireworks dispaly along with our other son and daughter Drew & Amanda....THANKS TO OUR CHILDREN who have been here gardening and hauling rocks and laughing and playing on the land each weekend to bring the kid juice up for everyone. Thanks to our garden and the organic gardens in the area who feed the people so much food that we are on the way to the senior center today to feed some more people. Thanks to Vicki Ivey and Laura & Mike for the fresh meats harvested in the good way. Venision, pork, turkey and so much more...along with Bear's favorite berries...our kitchen queen Magnolia who we hired to come in for the first time fed everyone better than any other gathering we have been to in a long time. n to help in the kichen to keep it flowing to feed over 150 people were such a blessing. To have Vonda here with her new garndbaby, and Samantha with her little ones...then generations continue to sing and dance and it warms our hearts.
Our children have been over the top and we want to especially honor Annie & Nicole who have been the weekend babysitters for months. To see our grandson Jesse helping Lulu with the children's lodge was more than a small blessing. All of our grandchildren joined with our new adopted children...what more could grandparents want. IT MADE IT ALL WORTH THE THOUSANDS OF HOURS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WE HAVE SPENT TO BRING THIS VISION TO LIFE. It is our 20th year celebration here at Hawkwind and we feel like we have only just begun. Yet now we know we can handle that many folks on the land without harming it, and that our kitchen can feed that many souls.
Thanks to old friends like Kookie and Doc Neal, John Jewitt,Bette & Jenny, Deb & Bert, Tony Wright, Grandma Myra and Sky weaver for showing up. Even though we were so busy we barley got to speak to any of you, it was more than a small blessing to have you here. WE ARE BLESSED, WE ARE GRATEFUL.
Our own program of outreach through our foundation has been given a boost of energy. It's good thing, as we have just taken on a 15 year old who is 6 months pregnant and looking for a home. Her Grandfather was raising her and he crossed over last week. We have already had calls about the next young woman who needs a home and the 10 children in Pine Ridge that need school supplies and clothes. Joseph is already working to get together the next Prision lodge, and Alisha is getting ready to move to Georgia so she can expand her skills to add to the works we all do.The wheel just keeps on spinning around.
WE CALL THIS THE GATHERING THAT SPIRIT LED, AS WE COULDN'T GET A REAL SCHEDULE EVER WORKED OUT, WE JUST WENT FROM ONE GRANDMOTHER TO THE NEXT TOO LET THE WEEKEND EVEOLVE...AND IT DID, BODY, MIND & SPIRIT. ( We channeled gumby to remain flexable all weekend and it worked...just wear green and a smile and let the Grandma's talk when they want and flow...reallly flow with the program Spirit is creating...THANKS SPIRIT FOR YOUR PRODUCTION CREW!!!) iT WAS A GRAND PRODUCTION AS TARWATER LED THE FIRE WORKS AND OPENED THE GATEWAY WITH SUCH LOVE AND HEART FOR HIS BROTHER AND FRIEND.
Thanks to the hundreds of friends and Elders like Steve McFadden, Chief Richard Grimes, Nicki Scully, Charles Lawrence, and Brooke Medicine Eagle who joined us in prayer to enhance the work. We felt you. The Spirit lights in the pictures show more lights than humans in the circle...it is mind boggling.
EVERYONE IS INVITED TO THE HAWKWIND 20TH ANNIVERSARY SPIRIT DANCE...A THREE DAY EVENT WITH AN ALL NIGHT DANCE TO HONOR THE VISION THAT BROUGHT US ALL TOGETHER. IT WILL BE APRIL 17TH - 21ST, WITH MANY ELDERS AND OLD FAMILY. WE HAVE GATHERED PICTURES, VIDEO AND ARCHIVES TO HONOR THE BIRTH OF HAWKWIND THAT HAS ALL BEEN BUILT OUT OF LOVE, THE EFFORTS OF THE PEOPLE. We are honored to live in this manner that is now called GREEN...we just always thought it was the natural way of doing things. So for those of you who haven't made it home to HawkWind yet...really, there are hot showers, a bunkhouse, real toilets and amazing mess hall with cooks and smiles...and we are still here. Dancing with full heart after all of these years, and wait till you meet all of our children...the most amazing blessing in the universe. The chorus of laughter from the little ones drove the program home...and we are feeling filled with joy and Spirit on this Good and Sacred day.
