The Mayan calendar and, perhaps, the world as we know it, completes/ends/finishes in the year 2012. Some see this as an apocalyptic time of chaos and destruction. Others see it as a new beginning, an opportunity for a quantum leap in consciousness that results in a paradigm shift that ushers in a Golden Age. Either way, 2012 and the shamanic death it portends can provide a timely catalyst for the regeneration and renewal of body, mind and Spirit for ourselves and our planet. Various societies of Elders and other Medicine People, including the Blue Star Council of Grandmothers that I belong to, are receiving the same messages in their dreams and rituals: people the world over are being called to wake up and align themselves with a new frequency of energy, a new ray of hope that is identified with the Blue Star or Blue Kachina. Charla Hermann Charla's skills were inially chiseled in the boardrooms of CNN, ABC, And CBS before she found her passion. Raised in the spiritual arms of the Wind River Reservation of Wyoming, Charla brings a unique perspective that honors ancient traditions as well as modern day expression of shamanism. For more than forty years Charla has served at the side of many prominent medicine people of many nations as she assisted them in providing their wisdom teachings to help us through these tumultuous times. In the acclaimed documentary series she produced, Quest of the Earth Keepers, she weaves healing stories with prophecies of our native ancestors. Born Charla Hermann she has earned the respect on many and has been called a Medicine Woman, given the name Grandmother Blue Otter. She is a Ceremonialist for the Clan of the Blue Star Grandmothers, Alchemical Healing teacher and Spirit Dance intercessor, Sweat Lodge leader, Sun Dancer, and for the past 12 years, here at OCFs Altared Space. She is the founder and director of the Hawkwind Earth Renewal Cooperative, based in Alabama, and a founding associate in the Alchemical Healing Academy. Following the traditions of the Earth Wisdom Woman. Our weekends find us in the garden making salves and working with healing plants. We can be found drumming, dancing, singing, and working with the rituals passed on by the traditional Grandmothers who walked these lands before us. We share the women’s lodges and rites of passage rituals for the young ones. We offer support and growing through working with the tools of transformation. Bring rattles, drums, smiles and yummie foods to share. Every time we meet we work with a new aspect of the women’s rituals and support our roles as women of wisdom in these chaotic times. |

| Spirit Quest Program

Honoring the ways of the ancestors, the Elders of Hawkwind offer an annual Spirit Quest program that provides each individual support by a Spiritual Community to experience the grace of this rites of passage. A process that was passed on from generation to generation offering a fasting and prayer time, a safe haven and a purification to allow each person to come to know themselves from new eyes with open heart and the nurturing of the drums, the lodges and the land. This is a process that requires several months of preparations and is supported by counseling and ritual through out the entire time. This is a commitment that requires 90- 120 days preparation for a prayer vigil in the woods, guided by your Hawkwind Council. |

The Stone People’s Lodge is the oldest purification ritual known to mankind. It has been shared with cultures all around the world. At Hawkwind, those providing lodge have been trained both on and off the reservation and offer a gentle family experience of cleansing and healing in the ways of this nation’s ancestors. We are mindful of all race, religion and Sacred belief and welcome your prayers for personal and planetary healing. At Hawkwind we offer monthly lodges and then special lodges that are connected with dances, quests, rites of passage and special healing needs. An open family program that begins at 10am on sunday with potluck dinner following. |

Fees: We ask for everyone to bring what they can to share. Please bring healthy foods for pot luck meals. Please bring some form of love offering to lodges to help us pay the bills of electricity, fire wood, heat, etc. We suggest that you offer what you make per hour for whatever number of hours you are wishing to have healing time with that Elder or teacher....thus if it is an 8 hour workshop...what do you make in 8 hours or what ever can work for you. We never turn someone away over money. We do gratefully accept help on the land as a means of offering. When we put on big full weekend events, we will offer a sliding scale of $111 - $164 and some work study positions. We accept offerings for our non-profit programs and can provide you with a tax deductible receipt. |
